This bead set comes as a complete necklace with handmade replica of the Thor’s Hammer pendant found in Pålstorp, Sweden and 30 handmade Viking glass beads. Glass beads are among the most common archaeological finds from the Viking Age. Just as back then, each bead has been shaped through the traditional winding technique where molten glass is wrapped around a metal rod.
The necklace can be worn in two authentic ways - as a decorative piece hanging between tortoise brooches together with a Viking Age apron dress, or simply as a standalone necklace highlighting the impressive Thor’s Hammer pendant.
Vikings would go to any lengths to get hold of colored beads, which is evident in the huge amount found during excavations. They are the single most common items found in pre-Christian Viking graves.
